GUZZLE H2O TECHNOLOGY:  CARBON BLOCK FILTRATION + UV-C LED STERILIZATION

Several Guzzle H2O Drinking Water Systems have two processes that they perform to improve drinking water.

CARBON BLOCK FILTRATION

Guzzle Carbon FilterThe first process is Activated Carbon Block Filtration to remove contaminants and impurities. Carbon is probably the most absorbent material known to man, and it is uniquely efficient because of thousands of tiny pores that can absorb contaminants. For example, a pound of activated carbon provides 125 acres of filtering surface area. The carbon is positively charged to attract negatively charged impurities such as chlorine, chemicals and volatile organic compounds.

The Carbon Block filter is very effective at removing sediment, chlorine, and chloramine from drinking water that municipalities often add to sterilize their water supplies.  These impurities are often what makes drinking water taste and smell poorly.

The 5” Bonded Powder Activated Carbon Filter reduces particles as small as 0.5 micron in size by mechanical means.

0.5 micron rating is based on 85% or greater removal of given particle size. Estimated capacity using 2 ppm free available chlorine at 0.5 ppm breakthrough. Data obtained from actual particle counts using AC Fine Test Dust and Latex spheres.

LED UV-C PURIFICATION

UV PurificationUltraviolet (UV) technology is a physical means of disinfecting water.  It has been the premier performer in water sterilization over the past two decades, due in part to its ability to provide treatment without the use of harmful chemicals.

UV represents wavelengths that fall between visible light and x-ray on the electromagnetic spectrum. The UV range can be further divided into UV-A, UV-B, UV-C, and Vacuum-UV. The UV-C portion represents wavelengths from 200 nm - 280 nm, the wavelength used in our LED disinfection products.

UV-C photons penetrate cells and damage the nucleic acid, rendering them incapable of reproduction, or microbiologically inactive. This process occurs in nature; the sun emits UV rays that perform this way.

The purification unit on Guzzle H2O systems, uses Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to generate high levels of UV-C photons. The rays are directed at viruses, bacteria and other pathogens within the water to render those pathogens harmless instantly.

WHEN IS GUZZLE H2O SYSTEM AN EFFECTIVE WATER TREATMENT ?

Several Guzzle H2O Drinking Water Systems combine Carbon Block technology with UV-C LED Disinfection.  The Carbon Block filter will greatly reduce sediment, and the Chlorine and Chloramine additives that give municipal water sources a bad taste and odor.  This will lead to a much better hydration experience.

The UV-C LED disinfection technology is highly effective at removing protozoa, bacterial, and viruses.  You can rely on a Guzzle H2O system to keep you from getting sick from drinking water.  When used with municipal water sources that have been treated with chlorine, this might serve as an insurance policy against contamination.  But in a situation where water has not been treated, such as well water, the UV-C technology can be very helpful in sterilizing protozoa, bacteria, and viruses that could make you sick.

Based on these two complimentary technologies, Guzzle H2O's treatment emphasizes removing sediment, bad smell and poor taste, and keeping you from getting sick from your drinking water.

WHAT KIND OF WATER IS NOT SAFE TO DRINK WITH GUZZLE H2O SYSTEM?

Guzzle H2O Systems have limited effectiveness against heavy metals, radioactive chemicals, and other chemical contaminants.  When in doubt, a water source should be tested for these contaminants before using with a Guzzle H2O System.
